"When Horse Crazy performs live, they absolutely light up the stage." -- Toe Tappin' Tommy Tucker - AMA DJ of the Year

The Band
Emele Clothier, Lauralee Northcott and Jennifer Epps are Horse Crazy. Career musicians and authentic western cowgirls, all three make their homes in rural Washington state. Emele is one of the finest western swing guitar players you'll ever hear. She also stokes the fire with harmonica, banjo and inspired vocals. She manages a ranch and still finds time to howl with her pals. Lauralee creates resonate, meaningful depth by surrounding the band with her voice and bass guitar. She rides in the mountains as a wilderness guide and pack cook in the summer time. Jennifer captivates audiences with distinctive harmonies coupled with rhythmic nuance. She can be found yodeling up the canyons while chasing cows on her famous cowpony, Whiskey.

School Programs

School Outreach Programs
As part of their ongoing commitment to share the art of western folk music, Horse Crazy dedicates a portion of their time to expose students to the hisory of the American West. In school programs, students are led with word and music while encouraged to participate actively. Our programs are fun for kids! School

Assembly Programs (30-45 minutes)
Offered to elementary and middle school audiences, Horse Crazy assembly programs entertain children while teaching about the origins of American Western music. The musical presentation is rich with vocal harmony, exciting music and humorous storytelling. Lively and upbeat, Horse Crazy is aware of a compelling need for young people to discover the wide range of musical styles that make up western music. Using songs, stories and a variety of instruments, Horse Crazy enlivens students by including them in the musical story of the west.

Workshops (30-45 minutes classes)
Children love to be involved in music, and Horse Crazy knows how to make the most out of every session. Emphasizing the origins of such American folk music classics as: "The Fox Went Out On a Chilly Night" and "Red River Valley", "Don't Fence Me In" and "Home on the Range" the students travel through time. Each child in the workshop is given a song/coloring book to take home featuring the songs learned during the workshop plus many others. Each class will recive a sing-along CD created by Horse Crazy musicians and kids in the Methow Valley Elementary School in Winthrop, Washington. This wonderful workshop along with the song/coloring book will encourage students to apply their understanding and knowledge long after the workshop is over. Horse Crazy musicians Lauralee, Emele and Jennifer will have a rollicking good time with your students.

Fundraisers

Horse Crazy specializes in hosting "Dinner and a Show" evenings for a group wanting to create and event which both raises funds and brings a group together. We begin the night with a few songs to get everyone in the mood while the group mingles. During dinner, the group uses their considerable comic skills to entice audience members to tell stories. Often members of the group have much to share with each other and this is a perfect time to let individuals shine. After dinner, there is normally a short intermission while dessert is served, and then the audence is ready for a performance sure to become a favorite memory for your group. Our fee is based upon Per Plate, with a minimum number of guests. Call or go online for more information. We can help with promotional materials and we will assist you every step of the way.
